Sant Cugat Network at Casa Banana Startup Day (Catalan)

Michiel Das, founder of the Sant Cugat Network, was one of the 100 participants in the first Startup Day organized by Bananity, Wineissocial and Genuinus at their Casa Banana HQ. The evening began with a presentation by the Mayor of Sant Cugat, Mercè Conesa, followed by an introduction of the hand of Pau Garcia-Mila, co-founder of Bananity.

Afterwards, Ferran Centelles, co-founder and sommelier during 11 years at elBulli, prepared a tasting of wines which was carried out by Alex Serra, CEO of Genuinus and former Chief Operating Officer of La Sirena. In the afternoon there was also a presentation about "The art of entrepreneurship" by Manel Sarasa, co-founder and CEO of Wineissocial and advisor / investor to Openbravo, wuaki.tv and Teambox, who iniciated the four round tables debates dealing with issues related to entrepreneurship, finance and marketing  2.0.

In the interview some general information was given about the launch of the Sant Cugat Network, a non-profit association that aims to enhace the multicultural contact between the inhabitants of Sant Cugat del Vallès by offering monthly networking gatherings in the city centre.

Sant Cugat del Vallès is one of the most important cities of the Vallès Occidental region of Barcelona, and almost 14% of its inhabitants are foreigners (mostly from other European countries such as Germany, France, etc.). Cugat.cat is one of the main news agencies of the city, with daily radio and television news, and a digital newspaper.
